A safe place to simply be a child.
Established in 1991 and registered under the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, Sharanya provides a safe home for girls aged 12–18 admitted through the Child Welfare Committee from economically disadvantaged and single-parent families.
These children receive safe accommodation, education, nutritious meals, healthcare, counselling and recreation. The home currently supports 14 girls (capacity 25), with academic support, karate, yoga, tailoring, spoken English and basic computer training. Children undergo training in Karate for self-defense.
