Bal Roshni is KSCCW's flagship programme for children with special needs from economically disadvantaged families. Since the year 2000, the initiative has been providing medical care, educational support and rehabilitation services to help children lead healthier, more independent lives.
Bal Roshni has enabled hundreds of children with disabilities to access education, healthcare and rehabilitation. By improving mobility, learning opportunities and confidence, the programme empowers children to become independent and active members of their families and communities.
What we do
- Medical support — surgeries, medicines, physiotherapy, hearing aids, wheelchairs, calipers, special shoes and other assistive devices.
- Educational support — school fees, transportation and vocational training.
- Holistic development — parent awareness programmes, counselling, cultural events and activities that promote confidence, inclusion and social participation.
How children reach us
Children are identified through referrals from schools, hospitals and the community. Every application is carefully assessed through home visits, document verification and Committee approval, to ensure assistance reaches those who need it most.
